For many years, we have been serving families of our local area. We love helping you connect with your dog and creating everlasting relationships. We teach you how to care for your dog as if they were our own, and ensure that they receive the highest quality service dog training.
Melanie has been training and working with service dogs and handlers for over 5 years, but has been training pet dogs for over 10 years. She believes training is ever evolving, and strives to stay educated on new positive ways to foster respect and relationship between you and your dog.
Melanie has a service dog named Budders who is task trained to mitigate her disability. She will help you train your service dog to do tasks and be public access trained so that your service dog can help you.
Melanie trains Pets and Service dogs, and is available to train in Nova Scotia.
Jenn is our Assistant trainer in Victoria BC, who has been training with various breeds of dogs for 5 years, and is in the process of completing her dog trainer’s certification. She has been training Service dogs specifically for 3 years. Jenn has her own Service dog, Lego, and her rescue dog, Scout.
Jenn is offering training for Pets and Service dogs.
Jenn will help you task and public access train your Service dog in British Columbia.
Kosta is our Assistant trainer in Halifax NS and has been training dogs for 3 1/2 years and has worked with various service dog trainers to
continue to educate himself. He has been walking dogs for many years, and continues to take online courses to keep up with the latest training technique.
Melanie is a member of the
Canadian Association of Professional Dog Trainers (CAPDT) and the Canadian Association of Service Dog Trainers (CASDT). She is a Certified Professional Dog Trainer through ICS and Unleashed Potential K9 Dog School Academy.
All of our trainers have Pet First Aid.
Melanie has certification in Dog Obedience Training and has taken courses by Duke Ferguson, as well as shadowing trainers who work with reactive dogs and collaborates with VIK9 Service dogs to help many handlers with service dogs and do some board and train with potential service dog puppies.
Jenn is completing the Dog Obedience Training Certification and has volunteered with VIK9 and Pawsitively Service Dogs Inc. as well as trained and cared for many other dogs.
We have taken the time to ensure that you will get quality training and feel safe and confident in us. Below are some important things to know:
- We are federally incorporated, carry an Inter-municipal business license, and are insured.
- We offer reduced rates on a case by case basis and we also can offer Payment plan contracts.
- Any donations go
directly to Pawsitive Advocacy at Work Society to fund service dogs for those in need unless otherwise stated by the donor.
- Currently we offer training in Sooke, Colwood and Langford British Columbia and Dartmouth, Cole Harbour and Eastern Passage Nova Scotia.
- We also offer online training on a case by case basis, and can do this training Canada wide.
- We understand that having physical or mental health challenges can be difficult, and if during training you need a break, we will try to accommodate you the best we can.
- While we do require 48 hours notice of cancellation for individual or online classes, and 7 days notice for group class cancellations in order to give a full refund, if you need to miss a session for health reasons, we ask you inform us as soon as you can, and we will have a make-up session on a different date.
- We ask that you do not attend if you are sick, as some of our clients are immune compromised.
- We want to protect your privacy. We keep your records safe, and we do not share your information with anyone unless you have given us permission to do so.
- We are human, and we can make mistakes. If something comes up that you have concerns about, please let us know so we can do our best to address your concerns.
- You will have homework, and we train rain or shine.
